I've been interested in photography since attending George Brown College in Toronto all those years ago! The problem is that I was never really good at figuring out what settings to use to take "the perfect shot". That's why I was hesitant to purchase a digital camera. I didn't want it to end up sitting on a shelf collecting dust. Turns out, I'm not bad! With my framing and composition skills and my knowledge of PhotoShop, I've been able to utilize my camera in my freelance work.

I've been creating original abstract paintings since 1997 using acrylic, latex and sometimes oil based paints and stains onto canvas panels or board. My paintings are usually quite colourful, although lately I've been using a lot of earth tones with heavily textured backgrounds. Mixing sand and stone with white primer or adding drywall mud to thicken the paint to create raised runs and drips. Definitely a tactile visual experience.

I use a Zoom H4 digital recorder. The built in stereo microphones have excellent
sound depth and quality, perfect for acoustic instruments and vocals. There are two XLR inputs for professional quality microphones that require phantom power.
These inputs also double as 1/4” mono inputs for electric guitar and bass or microphones that don't require power. It records in stereo mode or 4 track
mode, allowing me to record up to 4 instruments separately. I can mix them in the unit itself, or I can transfer the files to my laptop and add even more
